All skaters participating in this year GIC were heading to Frankfurt upon Main where last week series continued with its second race (and first marathon). The date was scheduled unusualy for Tuesday, May 1st 2012 but at the start of the race we could find a complete Winjay ISC Praha team.

The Frankfurt Marathon, one of the most challenging marathon races not only because of its tough profile but also because of concurrent start of cyclists and hand-bikes, didn't work according to our team plans. We are certainly happy that in such a tough competition as was in men category (with a great expansion of skaters from Korea and Ukraine) Martin Kuchar finished in 38th place in (01:12:50.4). Pavel Zajpt finished race in the next pack of racers in a quality time (01:13:58.1) in 55th place. Our next representative, Tomas Kalivoda, finished the race in (01:16:31.6) in the overall 77th place which may sound as a surprise but Tomas definitely deserved such a good time. Jaroslav Zika due to continuing back problems finished race in 101st place in (01:21:52.8) and we all know this is not place nor time Jarda should be finishing any race. Frantisek Micek started race in a great style but due to two accidents that lead to many scratches and mainly to dislocation of right shoulder finished race just in just a symbolic way in 122nd place in (01:51.05.8). Martin Macel, the last member of Winjay ISC Praha team finished in the overall 123rd place in (01:52:44.7) and improved his ranking from the last race by one place.

The winner of the men race was Swiss national Severin Widmer who finished in time (01:04:16.8).

Petra Havlasova finished her first marathon of the season in (01:53:29.5). This time secured her overall 34th place in the women race.
